About Kerala Blind
School Society
School for the Blind, Aluva was established in 1962 and is managed as a Private Aided institution under the Kerala Blind School Society. A co-educational residential school serving students from Nursery to Class 7, with English and Malayalam as media of instruction. From Class 8 to 10, it functions as a Resource Hostel and Mother School for children studying under the Inclusive Education scheme in nearby government schools, providing hostel, accommodation, food and learning resources.
All subjects follow the Kerala State Syllabus without any omission. The only difference is that reading and writing is in Braille or on computer. UP students (Grades 5-7) have individual computers and smartphones. LP classrooms have 2-3 computers each, with computer training from Nursery.
The library holds 3,000+ Braille, print and audio books. All students hold Bookshare global membership. Food, accommodation, books and uniforms - everything completely free. The annual Mikavutsavam (Excellence Festival) showcases student achievements as a form of social auditing.
🏫 Resource Hostel & Mother School (Classes 8-10)
From Class 8 to 10, the school functions as a Resource Hostel and Mother School under the Inclusive Education scheme. Students attend Kuttamassery School and other nearby government schools for academics while the school provides hostel, accommodation, food, uniforms and all learning support resources.

Support Us
Donate to the School
Your contribution helps us provide better education and opportunities to visually challenged children. Every donation — big or small — makes a real difference.
Tax Benefits for Donors
Your donation saves you tax too
Kerala Blind School Society is registered under both 12A and 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act. This means donating to us is not just good for the children - it is also financially smart for you.
12A Registration
The School Pays No Tax on Donations
Because we hold 12A registration, Kerala Blind School Society is fully exempt from income tax. This means 100% of your donation goes directly to the children — not a single rupee is lost to tax.
80G Certificate
You Get a Tax Deduction on Your Donation
Under Section 80G, you can claim 50% of your donated amount as a tax deduction from your own income. For example — donate Rs. 10,000 and save Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 5,000 in tax depending on your slab.
